Los Angeles Area Court Records

Using the Los Angeles Area Court Records (LAACR) at The Huntington

Access to Case Files

The Los Angeles Area Court Records are open to the general public by appointment. The LAACR collection is held in a closed stacks area of the Munger Research Center and available during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Appointment scheduling is subject to availability. Researchers should identify court case numbers and other pertinent information prior to making an appointment so that materials can be pulled by staff in advance. Multiple case files or volumes may be seen on the same day, but researchers may only check out one case file or volume at a time. LAACR files can only be viewed in the Ahmanson Reading Room.

Appointments are required; walk-ins are not permitted. To schedule an appointment, please call the Reader Services department at 626-405-2191, or contact the library via email.

Readers should request case files to the Special Collections Reading Room through Aeon, our library's request management system. Readers may follow the instructions below or see our how-to guide to learn how to place requests to the Ahmanson Reading Room.
