Information on services available to fellows at The Huntington Library.

Interlibrary Loan Services

Due to the closure, our institution has halted interlibrary loan (ILL) services for registered readers.

Interlibrary loan services are available for long-term fellows only.

To initiate an ILL request as a long-term fellow:

1) Visit our WorldCat Discovery page to search for materials available via ILL.

2) Open the record for the article you wish to request.

3) Under availability, select "Request Item Through Interlibrary Loan."

4) Sign in to your My Library account when prompted.

5) Submit your ILL request using the online form.

Reader Services will contact you and schedule you for curbside pickup once your book is ready.

Contact the library if you need further assistance.

N.B. If you have not setup your My Library account, visit our Reader Accounts guide for instructions.

Copy Charges: $1.00 per page

Delivery Method: Article Exchange or email

N.B. We only accept fees through Interlibrary Loan Fee Management (IFM).

Copyright Compliance

The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction not be "used for any purposes other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.

Under the 1976 Copyright Law, specific restrictions may apply to materials that may be obtained through ILL. The two most common limitations are: no more than one article from any single periodical ISSUE, within the last five years, maybe received per calendar year and no more than five articles from any single periodical TITLE within the last five years, maybe received per calendar year.
