In addition to the Berger collection, The Huntington has broad and deep holdings of textual, visual, and material artifacts related to Morris, including the Kelmscott Press, the Arts & Crafts movements in America and Britain, and the Pre-Raphaelites. For additional information about The Huntington's holdings related to the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and their circle, see the Guide to Literary Manuscripts in the Huntington Library (1979) and the following articles in the Huntington Library Quarterly (Winter 1992):
The Art Museum also has a wealth of Arts & Crafts movement material; please see a sampling of these art objects here: Works – Arts and Crafts Movement – Collections – THE HUNTINGTON LIBRARY, ART MUSEUM, AND BOTANICAL GARDENS. The Huntington Art Museum's online catalog and search engine, eMuseum, can be searched by artist name to locate other objects by Pre-Raphaelite and Victorian artists that are not part of the William Morris Collection. These include works by John Brett, Edward Burne-Jones, Walter Crane, Evelyn de Morgan, William Holman Hunt, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Frederick Sandys, Simeon Solomon, John Roddam Spencer Stanhope, and more.
The Huntington also holds material related to Doves Press, which was founded by T.J. Cobden-Sanderson, who was eventually joined by Emery Walker. To find materials printed by Doves Press, perform a search for “Doves Press” in the AUTHOR field of our library catalog. Please also note the 7-volume set of binding patterns created by Cobden-Sanderson:

The library also holds Sanford L. Berger’s papers. This collection consists primarily of the correspondence and research files received as part of the Sanford and Helen Berger Collection of William Morris that chiefly reflects Sanford L. Berger's activities in the mid-to-late 20th century as a collector, student, and enthusiast of objects and knowledge related to William Morris and his circle.

In 1913, Henry E. Huntington purchased a collection of literary autographs owned by John Quinn; these consisted of correspondence and literary drafts by 19th-century authors, including a significant number of items by members of the Pre-Rephaelite Brotherhood and their associates, such as Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Christina Rossetti, William Michael Rossetti, Algernon Charles Swinburne, and William Morris. Many more letters and manuscripts have been acquired over the years, including those by Edward Burne-Jones, John Everett Millais, William Holman Hunt, and John Ruskin. An author search for any of these names in The Huntington’s library catalog, while limiting your search to those items with a location of “Archives and Manuscripts,” should produce search results for manuscripts and letters created by these individuals, generally within larger collections.
