The bulk of the Huntington Library’s George Washington material can be found in the George Washington collection, 1749-1806. This collection contains over 600 items, including correspondence, surveys, military records, memoranda, accounts, receipts, and ephemera pertaining to George Washington's careers as surveyor, military leader, and U.S. president. Some Washington family correspondence and material relating to Mount Vernon and Washington's household are also in the collection, including several items regarding the enslaved laborers who worked on the plantation and in the household.
